The exact clause, quoted, before anyone relies on it.

Super Intelligence (SI) on a server the insurer owns: underwriters, claims staff and agents ask in Bangla or English and get the clause, the claims step and the page. Policyholder data stays in Bangladesh, and the first phase uses no customer files.

Start your first stepSee the pricesThe first call is free · Bangla or English
A claims question becomes the exact clause with its number and page; a claims officer confirms before the policyholder is told.

The sentence we hear

“Every policy wording is sixty pages, and the one clause the customer is arguing about is never where I think it is.”Head of claims

The operating reality

Where the time goes, and what the rules allow

An insurer's work is reading: policy wordings and endorsements, underwriting manuals, claims guides, product notes for agents, and the circulars and instructions of the Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority (IDRA). A claims examiner, an underwriter and an agent will each read the same clause differently, and the policyholder hears three answers.

IDRA regulates life and non-life insurers. The Personal Data Protection Act 2026 brings consent, security and breach duties for policyholder data, and life and health policies carry health data, which the Act treats as a sensitive class (confirm its class and duties with counsel). Significant data controllers must appoint a Chief Data Officer. These readings are summaries; your counsel confirms them before you act.

Bahlul SI puts the wordings, manuals and guides on one server in the insurer's building or a Bangladesh data centre. Staff and agents ask in Bangla or English; every answer quotes the clause number and the page; access follows the person's role; and the first phase uses policy and product documents only. Claims files are added, if ever, only after data readiness and counsel's review.

The five operations

1

Policy wordings and clauses

The sentence we hear

“Is this loss covered under this wording, and which exclusion applies?”

The problem

Wordings differ by product, year and endorsement. Staff search PDFs by eye, agents ring the branch, and the answer given on the phone cannot be checked later.

What changes
  • Underwriters, claims staff and agents ask about cover, exclusions, conditions and definitions, in Bangla or English.
  • The answer quotes the clause number, the wording version and the page, so it can be checked in seconds.
  • Endorsements loaded with the wording are cited alongside it, so the reader sees what the endorsement changed.
  • When the wording is silent, the answer says so.
What stays with a person
A claims or underwriting officer confirms any reading that decides cover or a payment.
The result
The same reading of every clause across head office, branches and agents, with the clause quoted every time.
Every reader gets the same clause with its number and page; an officer confirms any reading that decides cover.
Start withA three-week SI proof on 50 policy wordings, BDT 5.5 lakh.

Claims procedures and documents

The sentence we hear

“What is the next step on this claim, and which documents are still missing?”

The problem

Claims guides set the steps, the documents and the time limits for each claim type, and they change with each circular. Examiners learn them by experience, so a new examiner takes months to be useful and a claimant waits while the file goes back for one more paper.

What changes
  • Examiners ask for the steps, the documents and the time limits for a claim type, and get the guide page.
  • The document checklist for a claim type comes from the guide, so the claimant is told once what to bring.
  • Service standards and time limits from the guide and IDRA instructions are quoted with their source.
  • Later, claim forms can be read into the claims system as an SI pilot, with a person checking every field.
What stays with a person
The claims manager approves the settlement; Bahlul SI shows the procedure, not the decision.
The result
Fewer returned files and shorter settlement times, measured against the baseline taken before the proof.
The examiner gets the steps and the document list with the guide page; the claims manager still approves the settlement.
Start withSI proof on the claims guides, BDT 5.5 lakh; forms read into systems later as an SI pilot, from BDT 32 lakh.

Agents and the branch network

The sentence we hear

“A customer asks what this plan pays at maturity, and the product note on my phone is two years old.”

The problem

Thousands of agents sell from product notes, brochures and commission circulars that change often. Questions go to the branch by phone; the branch asks head office; the customer hears an answer that nobody can trace.

What changes
  • Agents and branch staff on the insurer's own network ask about benefits, premiums, riders, surrender rules and commission, in plain Bangla.
  • Answers come from the approved product notes and circulars only, with the page, never from a draft.
  • Each agent sees only the products and documents head office has released to the field.
  • The log shows head office which questions the field asks most, and which product notes need rewriting.
What stays with a person
The branch manager or the product team checks any answer that goes to a customer in writing.
The result
Agents who answer from the approved document instead of memory, and fewer complaints about what was promised at sale.
An agent on the insurer's network gets the approved product note and page; the branch manager checks anything that goes to a customer in writing.

Underwriting manuals and risk guidelines

The sentence we hear

“Can we accept this risk at standard terms, or does it need a referral?”

The problem

Underwriting manuals set acceptance limits, loadings, referral rules and the questions to ask for each class of risk. Junior underwriters refer too much; senior ones carry the manual in their heads and leave with it.

What changes
  • Underwriters ask about acceptance limits, loadings, exclusions and referral triggers for a class of risk.
  • The answer quotes the manual section and page, and the circular that changed it, if any.
  • The manuals, not proposal forms or medical reports, are the documents in the first phase.
  • Referral questions and their answers build a record the chief underwriter can turn into manual updates.
What stays with a person
Acceptance and terms stay with the underwriter and the referral chain; Bahlul SI shows the rule.
The result
Fewer unnecessary referrals and the same application of the manual by every underwriter.
The underwriter gets the manual section and page; acceptance and terms stay with the senior underwriter.
Start withSI proof on the underwriting manuals, BDT 5.5 lakh; then an SI server set-up, from BDT 14 lakh.

IDRA circulars, returns and complaints

The sentence we hear

“What does the latest IDRA circular change for our policyholder complaints procedure?”

The problem

Regulatory circulars, return formats and the complaints procedure sit with the compliance team; the rest of the company learns of them late. When a return or a complaint reply is due, staff reconstruct the rule from memory and old email.

What changes
  • Compliance, finance and customer service staff ask what a circular requires and when, and get the circular and page.
  • Draft replies to complaints and queries cite the policy clause and the circular, ready for review.
  • A data protection readiness package records which documents hold personal data and who may see them, before claims files are ever loaded.
  • The server's log shows an auditor who asked what, from which documents, and when.
What stays with a person
The head of compliance signs every return and every reply to the regulator or a policyholder.
The result
Returns and complaint replies drafted from the current rule, with the source attached, in less time.
The compliance team drafts returns and replies from the current circular and clause; the head of compliance signs.
Start withData protection readiness package, BDT 9.5 lakh, six weeks, alongside an SI proof on the circulars, BDT 5.5 lakh.

FAQ

Questions we are asked

Do we need to load claims files or medical reports?

No, and we advise against it in the first phase. Policy wordings, manuals, guides and product notes carry no personal data and answer most questions. Claims files come later, if at all, after the data protection readiness package and your counsel's review.

Which server would an insurer need?

Most insurers start with the Team configuration: one 32 GB card for up to about 50 named users, BDT 12 to 15 lakh before duty and VAT. A head office with a few hundred staff users needs the Department configuration. The load test in the SI proof confirms it.

Can agents in the field use it?

Through the insurer's own network or app, yes, with the same permissions as everyone else. The server keeps answering on the office network when the internet drops; an agent outside the office needs a connection to reach it.
